A Children’s Hearing will be arranged by the Children’s Reporter if they have deemed it necessary for the purpose of imposing a compulsory supervision order in respect of a child. The hearing may or may not impose such an order. Young people can be referred to the Children’s reporter for a variety of reasons, some of which relate to protecting a child’s health and well being from a number of potential risks or if a child has committed a crime, consumed alcohol, taken drugs or failed to attend school without reasonable excuse.
